Cookie policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies this website uses, and how you can control them. Scottish Energy Efficiency is committed to being transparent about how we use cookies on solarfinancecalculator.co.uk.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences. Cookies are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the site owners.
Cookies used on this website
This website uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking you across other websites. The cookies we may use fall into the following categories:
- Essential cookies: These are necessary for the website to function. They enable core functionality such as form submission and security features. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.
- Preference cookies: These remember choices you make (such as whether you have dismissed a notice) to improve your experience on subsequent visits.
- Analytics cookies: If we use analytics to understand how visitors use the website, we may use cookies to collect aggregated, anonymised information about usage. These cookies do not identify you personally.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or to delete cookies that have already been set. The exact method varies by browser — the links below take you to the help pages for the most common browsers:
- Google Chrome: settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Microsoft Edge: settings > Cookies and site permissions
- Safari: preferences > Privacy
- Firefox: settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this website — for example, forms may not submit correctly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
